AGM, Nom de Plume, Edinburgh, Sunday 11th January 2pm
The annual general meeting takes place next month and we are searching for enthusiastic people to become involved with the group. We particularly need guys to help with the organising and hosting of monthly events and special events such as Pride. To find out more information or to express and interest in becoming involved just drop us a wee message.
It's all happening on the weekend of 9th-11th October!
We look forward to seeing you for our big event in Edinburgh.
Wouldn't it be handy if you had the programme for BSF2014 on your phone, along with all the venue details, maps, contact numbers and other info you might need for the weekend?
As you may have noticed, we've put a lot of thought into making sure our website works just as well on your smartphone as on your computer. We know that most of you boys have iOS, Android, Windows and whatever else in your pockets nowadays (yes, we did notice the sea of Scruff and Growlr screens in The New Town last year!) ... so why not carry the info you need to make the best of your weekend on yours?
If you want to get your phone ready for BearScotFest this year, bookmark our BSF programme or better yet, add it to your home screen (it'll behave just like a purpose-built app). You can also download a PDF copy of the programme to your phone or print out if you prefer. If you're a little more daring you can also add the BearScots shared Google calendar to your phone's own calendar app, this also contains venue locations, maps, numbers and everything else you'd expect.
And for those of you who've decided not to embrace the smartphone revolution (or if you choose not to carry a mobile at all), don't worry! You'll still receive a good-old-fashioned-fold-it-up-and-pop-in-in-your-pocket style programme at registration!
2-5th October, Edinburgh
We are looking forward to seeing many familiar faces return this and meeting lots of new guys for our 13th annual fest in the beautiful historic city of Edinburgh.
Tickets for the weekend have nearly sold out but we still have some places left and tickets for Saturday night.
If you are arriving early come and join us on Thursday from 9 onwards at the Street on Picardy Place where we will be gathering for drinks and banter. thestreetbaredinburgh.co.uk
Getting the Info
Registration opens up from 12.00 pm at the LGBT centre underneath Nom de Plume on Broughton St. The guys in Nom de Plume serve up a great selection of food and drinks where you relax. Our base bar for the weekend is just across the road. The Barony Bar has a fine selection of real ales for you to taste.
Our website gives you a map of the main venues and by following the link bearscots.org.uk/agenda you can find full details of our weekend programme and add the event to your smartphone. Save the link to your phone's home screen and it will behave just like a handy app!
We are delighted that Andrew Clarke from Moody Bear will be joining us to sell his range of quirky and humorous clothing including exclusive BearScots merchandise. Andrew will be setting up camp at CC Blooms. themoodybear.com
Our chosen charity this year is Gay Men’s Health. They support gay and bisexual men throughout Scotland and we will be raising money for them through our big charity raffle. For more details about GMH check out: gmh.org.uk
Big hugs and see you at BearScotFest!
We have experienced some technical difficulties which have taken longer than expected to resolve! But not to worry in the next few days our online booking system will be up and running. The early bird special will be extended offering you discount for the weekend package! We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Big hugs from all at BearScots
