BearScotFest 2011 a Huge Success
Congratulations to Ben, the winner of our 2011 Mr BearScots competition!
The 2011 BearScotFest is now over - a three-day celebration of bears, cubs, chubs and their admirers! Around 500 sexy guys from all over the world descended on Edinburgh for drinks, dancing, a whisky tour and an underwear party, and of course the Mr BearScots competition. Thanks to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes - and thanks for all the kind comments we've received.
We started on Friday afternoon in the New Town Bar, then in the evening we moved to GHQ (a new venue for us - what did you think?) and finally Woof at CC Blooms. On Saturday The Regent hosted our brunch to refuel our hungry bears. In the afternoon our Whisky Distillery tour was fully booked, and the Underbear party in the New Town Bar was a huge success. Thanks to DJs Will and Corky for the tunes in the caves on Saturday night - what a great venue! Finally, on Sunday the New Town hosted Brunch, the gorgeous Fonda Cox presented our Mr BearScot competition at Electric Circus, and finally those still standing decamped to the New Town for a final pint or three.
There were 12 entrants for Mr BearScots this year - and a welcome mixture of young cubs and grizzly bears. The top three positions were a closely run thing, but New Zealander Ben M won the popular vote and was crowned Mr BearScots 2011.
We're all going in to hibernation - before we start planning for 2012's BearScotFest! BearScotFest 2012 will be held from the 5th to the 7th of October 2012. Watch out for photographs and videos from BearScotFest 2011 coming to our website and Facebook pages soon.

Bear Scots News Pride Scotia Edinburgh 2011
The bears and cubs of BearScots joined the Edinburgh Thebans, members of MSC Scotland, and hundreds of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, undecided-es and their friends, families and admirers for a festival Pride Scotia celebration.
